David E. Adams designs and builds studio furniture and custom built-ins
from his studio at 2200 Adeline Street in Oakland, California.
David's furniture has been shown in juried exhibits across America. He
is a Master Member of the Baulines Craft Guild.
David is a recipient of a Craft Research Fund 2005 Graduate Research Grant,
awarded by the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design in Hendersonville,
North Carolina, to research the attitudes and perceptions of furniture
makers and designers as they choose how they make and present their furniture.
He presented the results of this research at the Baulines Craft Guild's
"Masters and Apprentices" Annual Exhibition, August 17, 2006.
David recently completed his Master of Fine Arts in Woodworking/Furniture
Design at the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology
in New York State. He also holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from
California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California.
Prior to his graduate education, David worked as a scenic designer and
artist, as a theatrical carpenter and technician, and as a mural artist.
He lives in Marin County near San Francisco, California. |
